Description

Eggy bread is also known as French toast and in India, as bombay toast. Usually eggy breads are sweet, but those who do not have sweet tooth can omit sugar and instead add 1 pinch of crushed peppercorn.

Note

1) Do not soak the bread for too long. It will turn soggy.
2) The photograph shown is off with pepper.

1  Tsp.Icing or confectioners sugar for dusting
1  Tbsp.Butter (for frying)

Method

1) Beat egg with milk and sugar. Beat well to dissolve sugar.
2) Heat a pan with butter.
3) Dip bread in eggy mix and fry. Fry on both sides till golden brown.
4) Remove and dust with icing sugar.
5) If using pepper, you may omit icing sugar.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm with fresh cream for sweet version and tomato ketchup for pepper version.
